RULES REVIEWING SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES

“Kuban Scientific Medical Bulletin”

 

Each article submitted to the journal is to be sent to an independent review to  universities and research institutions of Russia. In order to ensure the independence of the review, text of article is to be sent to reviewers without  identifying of  author (s)’s name  and  place of  work, and  authors  will get text  of review without  reviewer’s name and place  of work. Authors will receive a review for studying and improving of text in compliance with remarks or for  motivated objections or explanations. Where necessary, the article is to be sent for re-review. It provides an objective and high-quality range of publications.

The editorial office holds the original reviewers’ evaluation letters for 5 years.

GUIDELINES FOR REVIEWERS

Below we provide some information and questions for you to bear in mind while reviewing a manuscript:
1. Timeliness of the topic;
2. Conformity of the paper to the current status of the issue discussed;
3. Availability of references to all significant publications in subject of the paper;
4. Abstract quality and sufficient volume;
5. Originality of work, novelty of the data obtained;
6. Clear statement of paper’s objectives and tasks, their conformity to the actual material provided;
7. Quality of methods and materials’ description;
8. Appropriateness of research methods’ selection;
9. Conformity of the paper to ethical standards;
10. Relevance of statistical analysis;
11. The material is properly illustrated (informative value of tables and figures);
12. The results comply with declared objectives;
13. The own data are compared to published data;
14. The conclusions are well-grounded;
15. The scientific value of paper’s results;
16. The practical value of paper’s results.

While giving opinion on the review article, the attention shall be paid to:
Completeness of subject discussion in published sources, sufficiency of various viewpoints and approaches discussed in the subject considered.

In conclusion, recommendation as to paper publication shall be provided:
The paper is to be published as it is;
The paper is to be published after the criticism is remedied;
The paper is to be rejected.
